This tree is like a wilderness recliner. It had 2 places to sit, so comfortable, with view and cell service!!👌
Meet Problem Bear and Jim Beatty(right). They were out doing trail maintenance, thanks guys!!! Jim also provides a water cache at Road 22 (cache 22) on the Hat Creek Rim were there is a long water carry area.
This was my lunchtime view today. Little windy so I’m sitting beside a large rock.
It was a hot one today and I took the opportunity for a quick skinny dip under this bridge at Pass Creek mile 1183. It was amazing! Way better water temps than the Sierra’s!!👌After getting my things packed up Jeremy (from the Lone Pine hostel) showed up. We camped together tonight and got caught up on the last 200 miles.
I assume this is a fresh badger den? 8″ diameter hole, dirt spilling over the trail. Crazy how this hole can be dug so cleanly. It looks like an auger did it.
I slept poorly last night, allergies are starting to act up. On the plus side Fireball mixed in coffee is really good and soothes the throat! 😁
Tomorrow takes me into Sierra City for resupply. Looking forward to breakfast!
Lastly, I need to give a shout out to some friends and events I’ve missed out on recently😔. You’ll see a photo of me, this is lovingly refered to as Flat Mike. He get to have a blast in my absence!!

I know you can’t wait to get out of California, almost there less then 200 miles now (sorry if I ruined the surprise of where he is for anyone else, he’s just behind in blogging not miles)! Keep your chin up you got this! Just think how good my cooking will be now that all you have had for three months is dehydrated food. Start making your list of real food I need to bring to our next meet up. Love you, proud of you and can’t wait to see you again. As a side note, if you are arrested for indecent exposure in the middle of the wilderness and need bail money I am going to be very upset. Hopefully no pack rats take of with your clothes while you are playing naked in the creeks! I know how much you packed and it isn’t that much
